A Tour of Red Hook

I decided to adventure to a new neighborhood.  I found quite a few exciting things along the way.

You can never go wrong with a lobster roll.

Especially not from the famous Lobster Pound!
You may find kittens separated by a fence.

You could find a car with a tree growing inside.
A view from the waterfront.

Very pretty.
This is where old subway cars go to die.

It's also where the water taxis dock for the evening.
These guys were going fishing.

What are they building?

Container houses!
Some sort of crazy-looking subway entrance.
But the subway is full of asbestos.

The gowanus canal and a polka dot cement truck.

They found a dead dolphin here.  (most polluted waterway in the country)
I set off on this adventure without any idea of what I might find in Red Hook.  I also saw IKEA, homes, scary public housing, a warehouse district, brick streets, and some oddly placed restaurants.  I'd say it was a pretty fun tour of a part of Brooklyn that most people never see.  Mission Accomplished!
