Today I bought my first designer dress. Erin and I have never owned any fancy clothing, but this was my Christmas gift to her.
I know there are stores that charge thousands for items, but I've never spent more than $100 on any single clothing item except a suit, and if you split the cost over the jacket and pants, maybe not even then.
Oh well, she looks good!
Since we were in the designer mood, we went shoe shopping next. I needed new dress shoes and had heard Allen Edmonds had the best and most classic shoes. I think the salesman was horrified that I wore Vans and white socks into his store, but he helped nonetheless.
I then managed to buy the most expensive pair of shoes ever intended for use by men. I won't share the price tag, but it was more than six times what I normally spend on new shoes. These better last my whole lifetime as promised.
I think I need to stay away from SoHo and Madison Avenue. They are not designed for a student budget!
