Odd Things and Really Odd Things

As usual, I have a collection of photos from the past few weeks.  Some are odd.  Some are really odd.  Also, we rented a house in the Hamptons that slept 36 people, so some of these pictures are from outside NYC.

Only slightly odd.

I stopped at McDonalds coming back from Long Island and found a huge number of Asians had taken over the restaurant.  Not sure what was going on, but it seemed slightly odd.

Retreat refrigerator.

There are two food groups in the fridge.  In the far top right corner, we have lobster tails.  Everywhere else, we have beer.  I suppose this isn't entirely odd, but it still makes the cut.

Classmate sleeping outside.

It was 40 degrees outside.  He slept in a t-shirt and jeans with a fitted sheet wrapped around his head.  The good news is he survived.  I rate this as definitely odd.  No one figured out why he was out there.

Bizarre scene.

I know this picture is dark and it's tough to make out what is going on.  I should have made a video, but I was too bewildered.  These people are holding medieval weapons and fighting.  It's simulated, but everyone is screaming as if their limbs have been chopped off.  They only go quiet when someone kindly chops off their head with a giant sword or axe.  I seriously haven't the slightest idea what was going on.  It was like a giant make-believe battlefield.  Seriously odd.

A polish food truck?

I'm all for food trucks, but I can't say I expected to see one serving polish cuisine.  Imagine this truck cruising down your street.  This rates as pretty odd.

This guy makes chalk art as a career.

He draws on the ground and asks for tips if you like it.  I'm all for entrepreneurship, but I didn't even know you could do this as a job!  Really odd.

Time traveler?

This guy was straight out of another era.  The hat, the briefcase, the suit, the cane...everything.  So, so odd.

This woman carried her crutches.

She is walking on a boot and carrying her crutches.  I guess her foot isn't too bad off.  That, or she'd rather have foot pain than sore armpits.  Still, odd to see a person limp along carrying crutches.

A piano?  In the park?

This guy was very good, but pretty grumpy.  I have no idea how he managed to get a piano into the park by himself.  This was just one guy, all alone, playing a piano.  8/10 on the oddness scale.

A dog wearing a leather jacket.

We have a winner.  In one of the oddest things I have ever seen, I ran across a dog wearing a leather jacket.  I know people dress up their dogs in sweaters for the winter, but it was 70 and sunny.  Really, really odd.

This concludes this set of odd things that I have run across since the last update.  At least life is never dull.
